Best Camping
- I am a local native of Perry County. I want to give props for Lake Sylvia. It is the best kept secret in Arkansas. It is a small lake, very quiet (usually) and great for swimming, fishing, boating, hiking and camping and getting away. I go there often for jogging, walking my dog, swimming and tanning. I enjoy the quiet when its not crowded. During the busy season, I meet people from ALL OVER THE WORLD there - literally. We are 40 minutes West of LR, 40 min. from Petit Jean, 50 minutes from downtown Hot Springs and 15 minutes to Perryville, where there is shopping, restaurants, and hotels. There is a great store in my neighborhood, just a few miles from Lake Sylvia, at Hwys. 9 & 10, called 'William's JCT.' Store. It has just about everything you need, from gas to groceries, pizza, a sandwich deli, worms, bait, etc... Lake Sylvia is 4 miles from Hwy. 9/10 (will see sign) on the hiway. The Williams JCT Store is 2 miles East of the Lake Sylvia Exit, on Hwy 10.

Petit Jean
- My first camp-out ever was at Petit Jean in Arkansas. It rained our tent blew away and we ended up sleeping in the car. I still go back to Petit Jean and I still love camping.
