If I am missing an event or have incorrect info, please let me know at littlerock.guide@about.com. December 3-4 is the big weekend this year. That is when the Little Rock and North Little Rock parades and capital lighting take place.

The radio station playing Christmas music is 106.3, The River. They will be playing Christmas music all the time until midnight on Christmas night.

The River Market on Ice Skating Rink is open the entire season, starting on November 19. River Market vendors will have "Shop at the Market" (gift buying) every Saturday starting November 26.

Museum school faculty and students showcase their wares. Articles include potter, jewelry, woodwork, glass and more. Admission is free.

River Market on Ice Grand Opening
River Market Pavilions
Skating demos and radio Disney to celebrate the grand opening of the rink.

From 1-6 p.m. Live entertainment and Santa makes an appearance in horse drawn sleigh.

Storybook Holidays at The Peabody Little Rock
Begins at 11 a.m. Santa Claus will serve as honorary duck master to escort the Peabody ducks from their palace, then the Peabody will hold a tree-lighting ceremony with some other fun family activities. Call 501-399-8059 for details.

Sherwood's Festival of Lights
Sherwood Forest
6-9:30 p.m.
Holiday light display featuring Robin Hood, forest animals, Santa’s workshop and more. Free admission, donations accepted.

A daddy-daughter date night to benefit CARTI. Features a silent auction, dancing, hors d'oeuvres, and desserts. Admission: $40.00 per person.

Festival of trees has many events including. my favorite, the Tux and Trees gala. Admission varies and benefits Arkansas cancer patients. Most events feature a silent auction of great items, including decorated trees.

Arkansas Craft Guild Christmas Showcase

A juried show of contemporary art and fine crafts by over 100 members of the Arkansas Craft Guild. Hours: Friday, 10 a.m. -8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. -4 p.m.

Toys for Tots "Toy Hill"

City of Little Rock's Big Jingle Jubilee Holiday Parade & Capital Lighting

Downtown Little Rock
Parade and Capitol lighting ceremony. Admission is free.

Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis
This is a fun 5k run in downtown Little Rock. Participants wear seasonal costumes, tie jingle bells to their shoelaces and take to the streets. You can register on the website.

Arkansas Chamber Singers Capitol Event
5 p.m.
The Little Rock Club, 400 West Capitol
Tickets are $12-18 per person. Fireworks and a silent auction.

Breakfast with Santa at Children's Hospital
Arkansas Children's Hospital
7 a.m. - noon
Santa comes on a big, red fire truck to meet your kids. firefighters from the Little Rock Fire Department cook and serve attendees a meal of pancakes, eggs, sausage and fruit. The children in attendance have the opportunity to take a picture with Santa, create holiday crafts, call the North Pole and enjoy festive music. Tickets $10-15.
