Guide Review
When you walk into Loca Luna you're greeted by a unusual sculptured woman and the smells from the kitchen. You wonder, "what kind of place is this?" Once you're escorted to your table, you realize that this place is an unusual mix of casual elegance. You'd feel equally at home in jeans here as you would in a business suit.Of course, the food is the reason you go to Loca Luna. They have a wide selection of gourmet food for you to choose from. On the dinner menu, appetizers include homemade lobster and blue crab cakes ($8.95) and "the best" cheese dip and salsa in Little Rock ($5.95). It's not the best cheese dip in Little Rock, but it is pretty good. The crab cakes were a hit too.
Entrees have a little something for everyone. The iron skillet grilled vegetable medley ($14.95) is vegetables like tomatoes, spinach, red cabbage and carrots with saffron rice and topped with cheese. It is delicious! For the more carnivorous, they have Pot Roast with shitake mushrooms and root vegetables ($13.95), Pork Osso Bucco ($19.95), steaks, salmon, pasta and more. They also make an excellent hand tossed pizza.
Loca Luna is located on 3519 Old Cantrell Road and they are open for lunch and Sunday brunch (11-2:30). Call 501-663-4666

Kevin (2 stars) - 1/14/2007Cheese dip, drinks, service, atmosphere, food all too expensive. It used to be a nice place but now its just overpriced family dining.

I disagree totally about the brunch. I eat there all the time after church on Sunday. The southern breakfast is fabulous. The eggs Benedict is perfect. You can order the eggs how you want them, just like steaks. Food at lunch is southern style plates with fresh veggies and the dinner menu has great seafood specials. I go at least twice a week. Sometimes you have to drive around back because it looks full. They share a lot with next door. But there is plenty of parking, you just have to look. The crab cakes and cheese dip are wonderful.

Ambiance is good, but it ends there. The food is terrible. I have dined there three times recently for brunch and had the worst food--nearly raw poached eggs, then a terrible egg casserole, and finally scrambled eggs made from powdered eggs--or if not that--how could it look and taste like yellow egg-flavored jello? I only went the second and third time because friends insisted, but never again.

Relaxed elegance with great food and service to match. Sea bass and roast duck were exceptional.
