I often get asked if Little Rock is open to alternative lifestyles. I would say most of the city is, but we don't have much of a community as big cities like Austin or even Memphis. There are a few places for you to hang out with kindred spirits and have a good time. These recommendations are from my buddies, so if you have any to add or any comments to make, please email me and I'll add them!
1. The Backstreet
This is consistently voted as the place to be for the GLBT crowd. The club is actually three bars: LeBistro (21 and up only), The Manhole and The Showroom. You will find drag shows, DJs, dancing and even pool tables. One of the clubs is sure to have something to fit you. They definitely cater to all alternative lifestyles. Open Friday, Saturday & Sunday at 9pm. Eighteen and up: $10 all night. 21 and up: No cover until midnight. After midnight $5.Located at 1021 Jessie Drive.

2. The Factory
They cater to the gay community, but anyone is welcome. They claim to "offer a place where you be yourself or be somebody else." Dancing and music plus a quiet area where you can think if you're not into the "rave" scene. Open Tuesday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.412 S Louisiana St

3. Sidetracks
My favorite review of this place called it the gay version of Cheers. I can't attest to that, but this is often called the place for gay men to go if they just want to hang out and have a good time without the drag shows and other paraphernalia. They do have themes like country night and leather night. Open 7 days a week, Monday-Saturday 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.Main St in North Little Rock

4. Discovery (some people call it "Disco")
Discovery makes my list of best straight nightlife too because it's a huge club with a bizarre vibe. It's probably the best place to dance in the city. There are some, however who can't hang with the 35,000 square feet of space inside its doors. Includes all types of techno, top 40, trance and bands for dancing. They also have drag shows. Open Saturdays from 9 p.m til 5 a.m (only 1 night each week).1021 Jessie Drive.
