How to Tailgate at War Memorial Stadium

By , About.com Guide

Tailgating in General:

Tailgating in Central Arkansas is great fun. Generally, everyone gets together in their hog regalia and has a great time. Hogman's Hog Pen on University is a great place to stop before the game to load up on a goofy Razorback hat, some temporary tattoos, Hog flags or whatever else you could want to bring to your party.

Reserve Tailgating:

For $120, you can reserve a spot on the War Memorial Golf Course located directly across the street from the stadium. Contact Nancy Toland at 501-663-6385. These spaces are sold for the entire season and normally sell quickly.

Commercial Tailgating:

Commercial Tailgating is for companies, organizations and individuals who want to have "tailgate parties." Businesses can purchase space on a per game basis at $650 per space. Call 501-663-6385 for more information.

Radio Stations, etc.:

There are always various media personalities at the Little Rock tailgate days. You'll see many big, professional sized grills at the stadium too.

Individual Tailgating:

There are unreserved parking spots on the War Memorial Golf Course. The fee to park is $20 and you need to get to the spots bright and early the morning of the game to get one. Fans can enter off Interstate 630 onto Fair Park heading north and turn onto Clubhouse Drive, or from Markham to Taylor Street.

Avoiding Tailgaters:

Generally, it's hard to get anywhere from Monroe Street/Jonesboro to the malls on University St before, during and after a home game. I try to avoid the area between the Little Rock Zoo/Health Department Complex/UAMS and Park Plaza and University Mall on game days. Some streets around the Fair Park area will be blocked off and parking attendants will send you on your way if you don't have a pass or want to pay the $20 parking fee.
