March 2

  • Mississippi Innocence at the Clinton School of Public Service at 12 p.m. Email publicprograms@clintonschool.uasys.edu to attend.

March 3

  • Consignment sale from 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Junior League of Little Rock building, 401 S. Scott St.
  • Paws on the Runway is a great event benefiting CARE. They've got wine, beer, heavy hors d'oeuvres and a doggy fashion show. It's at the Governor's Mansion on 1800 Center St. It starts at 6 p.m. and admission is $50. 501-603-2273. I heard this event is sold out, sorry!
  • It's going to be a great weekend to head to Pinnacle Mountain for their various events. You can learn to pack for hiking, ID trees and all about backpacking in Arkansas. 501-868-5806
  • Dr. Seuss' birthday is being celebrated at Trinity United Methodist Church 1101 North Mississippi St. at 10 a.m. They'll be games, storytellers, singers, magician and treats for kids. It's free. 501-666-2813.

  • Soup Lunch at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. From 12-1:30 p.m. you can eat in, but you can takeout from 9:45-11:00 a.m. They are located at 11112 Alcoa Road in Benton and it's just $10 for all you can eat.

  • Second Friday Art Night. From 5-8 p.m. Gallery walk in downtown Little Rock.

  • The Toughman Contest is at the Statehouse Convention Center. You can watch the competition (or join, if you're crazy).

  • Canoe Float at Pinnacle Mountain State Park (actually the Maumelle River) - Pinnacle has canoe floats often in the spring, so call for more info. 501-868-5806.
  • Family Saturday at Heifer Village - Some of the animals from the ranch are visiting and they are teaching about backyard gardening.
  • The Museum of Discovery celebrates Brain Awareness Day - Representatives from UAMS and Hendrix College will have displays and exhibits throughout the museum, give demonstrations on circulatory, respiratory and nervous systems, and show visitors of all ages the importance of good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.
  • Gallery 26 presents Blue-Eyed Knocker Photo Club - The exhibit of 170 fine art photographs opens this weekend at 2601 Kavanaugh Boulevard, Suite #1.

March 30

  • Eggshibition XXI: Starting at 7 p.m. at the UALR Jack Stephens Center. Eggshibition is an egg themed art exhibit and auction. Tickets are $50. Not really geared towards kids. 501-821-5500.

  • Clinton Library Easter Family Festival and Egg Hunt is from 10 a..m - 2 p.m. at Clinton Presidential Center Park. Meet the Easter bunny and hunt for six thousand plastic eggs filled with goodies and very special prizes. Designed to somewhat mimic White House Easter egg roll. More Easter.
  • The Old Statehouse has special events all day, including some arts and crafts and family friendly events.
  • Pinnacle Mountain State Park is teaching you how to camp with an overnighter. The cost is $22, but most camping supplies are included. 501-868-5806
  • Breakfast with the Reptiles at the Little Rock Zoo lets you have a nice, hot breakfast and learn some special things from the reptile keepers at the Little Rock Zoo. Starts at 8 a.m. The cost varies, but ranges from $12.95-21.95. 501-661-2406.
