  • June 14: Arkansas Trails Day - Smokey Bear will be on hand to help celebrate Arkansas trails (9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.), Father's Day Cruises on Lake Maumelle ($10, various times)

  • June 16-June 20: Discovery Day Camp: Nature Detective - Day camps are $85 & for ages 7-12 (9 a.m. - 2p.m.)
  • June 21-22: Summer Begins - Numerous programs including guided hikes and water activities.
  • June 16-June 20: Discovery Day Camp: Outdoor Skills - Day camps are $85 & for ages 7-12.
  • June 22: Interpretive programs include: Feel the Fur, Lizard Looking & Turtle Time
  • June 23-June 27: Discovery Day Camp: Adventure Camp - Day camps are $85 & for ages 7-12 (9 a.m. - 2p.m.)
  • June 28: Star Party - The Central Arkansas Astronomical Society joins park interpreters for a look at the stars.
  • June 28-29: Reptilian Days - Meet some reptiles and learn about Arkansas reptiles. Various times throughout the weekend.

Pink Tomato Festival

Celebrate the pink tomato with tomato markets, contests and other free entertainment. The 7-12 is mostly pageants and tournaments. Festival type activities start on June 13.

Mindfest

Make LED jewelry, paint with light, learn how kaleidoscopes work, dance with shadows or make color disappear. The museum will be full of activity stations that invite all ages to stretch their mind. Regular admission ($8) applies.

Friday and Saturday have a frog jump contest, terrapin derby, a greased pig chase, a peach eating contest and a peach cobbler, jam and jelly bake-off. Admission to most events is free.

2nd Friday Art Night
Downtown Little Rock/River Market District
Enjoy art downtown from 5-8 pm. Held monthly, 2nd Friday Art Night is a free after-hours event open to the public.

Groups includ Diamond Rio, Riverbilly, Confederate Railroad, John Anderson, Collin Raye and Emerson Drive. Tickets are $30 in advance and benefit the Fallen Firefighters Memorial Fund. Can be purchased at celebrity attractions. Call for more details.

Arkansas Kennel Club All Breed Dog Show

Dog show takes place Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Admission is free.

Malvern Brickfest
Live music, 5k run, car, motorcycle and tractor show, brick toss and more. Lots of food and crafts. This is one of the larger festivals in Arkansas every year.

A beer and wine sampling event with over 65 varities to sample and music from local bands. From 5:30-9:30 p.m. Advance admission is $25.
