J-Mar was originally Julian Martin's, Mark's dad, company. Julian had been driving trucks since he was 10 years old. In 1964, he decided to make a business out of it. The company was ran out of a old school bus shop in Batesville until 1987 when it was moved to Searcy.
When Julian passed away suddenly in 1998, Mark took over as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. The company currently operates over 50 trucks and employs over 125 people. If you have trucking experience and need a job, you should consider moving to Searcy and drive one of Mark Martin's trucks. Wouldn't it be neat to tell everyone you worked for NASCAR champion Mark Martin?
In all seriousness, the Martin family has made an impact on Arkansas economy and reputation. Like many famous Arkansans, Mark Martin continues to give back to his home state. Keep up his father's company provides jobs and gives Arkansas one more claim to fame.
