Turpentine Creek shelters any big cat in need. Some of them have come from roadside zoos that have been closed. Some of them were kept as pets. Regardless, they all needed a place to go and it's hard to place a tiger or lion. That place is Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Almost all the animals have the stories on the front of their cages, which do seem small but the sanctuary does all it can to give them space to roam. New, larger enclosures are being built and can be seen on the tour. The sanctuary depends on public support. You can make donations, adopt a cat or just visit the sanctuary to help. Guided tours are given daily. You can also tour at your own pace.
Admission $15.00 for adults, $10.00 for children (ages 3-12). They are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the summer and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the winter.
If you really like big cats, they have a tree house, guest lodge ($125-150) and RV park ($25) to spend the night.
