Guide Review
What you'll find in this casual setting is good, home-style Middle Eastern food. Friends tell me their gyros are the best they've had in any city and, at $4.55, the price can't be beat.
I'm not a gyro fan, but I do love falafel. Their falafel ($4.25) is not the best I've had (that honor goes to the Greek Food Festival), but it was very good. The portion sizes are much larger than expected. For $2.25 you get a Meditation Salad big enough to be a meal. We also had lentil soup, a Chiken salad and a pizza. I also highly recomment the veggie platter ($7.35) which features hummus, baba ghannouj & tabbouleh & pita.
Pizza is an odd thing to find a Middle Eastern Restaurant, so we had to try it. We had the spinach pizza. It was surprisingly good, with a thick, tasty crust and a tangy sauce. I probably woudln't order it again, but I think the inclusion on the menu makes this is a great place for kids or picky eaters to venture into the world of Middle Eastern food.
The owner, Mahmoud Jlitali, is very friendly and frequently found in the restaurant. He's also a halal butcher and uses those practices for meat served in the restaurant.
The next time you're craving Greek, check them out.
