That's a BIG Flag!
Yes it is. This flag is 24 feet wide and 60 feet long. It can be found in the front yard of the Cantrell Road home of Jennings Osborne. That's not all he has in store for this patriotic display. The rest is a surprise. However, an Osborne riverside fireworks show that is planned for October 21 isn't. The only surprise is how big and how colorful it will be.

Who is Jennings Osborne?
Most would remember this family from their 1993 "Christmas Light" court case. The Osborne family used to have enormous Christmas light displays that would keep traffic on the street backed up for hours. Osborne estimates he had 3 million lights and the display could be seen from the air as far as 80 miles away. The neighbors claimed it ruined the neighborhood as people trampled through their yards and made it impossible to leave their driveways. The neighbors sued and won. You can find out more on the family's homepage.

What's Osborne Up to These Days?
Since he can no longer have his Christmas lights at his own home, Jennings Osborne lends his lighting display talent to Graceland, Disney World and over 32 Arkansas cities. He also has been known to sponsor firework displays (at Riverfest for example). Is all this a bit kooky? Perhaps. However, I think it's great fun! I used to look forward to seeing his house every year at Christmas time. I'm sure kids of all ages appreciate his efforts to bring a little light to the world.
