You hear about a new one everyday. Lay-offs are happening everywhere in Arkansas. Job security has become a thing of the past. Even if you have a good job that you think will be around forever, it's a good idea to freshen up your resume and brush up on you interviewing skills. You never know what tomorrow will bring and it's always good to be prepared for a job change.

However, if you do get laid off or just want to find a better job, don't worry. The days of hitting the pavement and knocking on doors in search of job are over! With the Internet, all you need to is search, submit a resume and wait for a call.

There are national job searches like FlipDog and Monster.com. These are nice, but sometimes they don't have many jobs in Arkansas. Local job hunting resources are often a better option.

Some local job sites have information on training and career advice alongside job listings. What a Job and Arkansas Career Development Centers are two such sites. On these sites you can find your dream job and information on what steps you need to take to actually get it.

Other sites are just massive job banks with lots of listings for job in many categories. I like Arkansas Jobs the best. They have a large listing of jobs but it isn't easy to find them. There is no search function. You just have to read through all of the positions in a particular field. At Arkansas' Job Bank you can search for jobs nation wide or search within your zip code. They have a large site with many listings so there will probably be something in your field.

If you are looking for jobs with the state department, try looking at the Employment Security Division's state job section. They have listing for openings in state positions and links to a few sites that will help you with your job search.

Good luck in your quest for that perfect job!
