2008 Events

Do you know of a haunted house, carnival or event I missed? Email littlerock.guide@about.com and I'll add you ASAP.

Be sure to check out the list of pumpkin patches, corn mazes and alternatives to trick-or-treating too.

My personal favorite attractions are listed first, in a different font. While I cannot say that I have personally attended all of these haunted houses, I can say these were worth the cost of admission!

The moniker "KF" means kid friendly, or suitable for young children.

Haunted Houses

Haunted Hospital (NLR)
Saturdays through October 20, then every night but Sunday from 6-10 pm
1 Pershing Circle (former Baptist Memorial Hospital)
This is a great haunted house and it support the Police Athletic League. This tour gives you a bit of the real history of the hospital (which is said to be haunted - for real), plus some scary fake mental patients, butchers and gouls. It's well worth the $10 admission. Sponsored by the NLR Police Athletic League. 501-744-5404.

Haunted Cathedral (LR) KF
October 18-31
Little Rock, EMOBA's Cultural Center
See "Egor", EMOBA's sleeping giant, walk through haunted mazes and across floors which fall from beneath you! Carnival atmosphere with food vendors. 501-372-0018. Admission: $10, call for group rates. I call this somewhat kid friendly because most of the "scare" comes from props instead of actors. Plus, they generally have some kid themed activities and food.

The Torture Chamber (Benton)
1605 Benton Parkway at Party Central
They say, "You must also be in good health and able to crouch, crawl, and beg for your life or at least mercy on your soul. If you have any medical problems that may prevent you from being able to complete this event, Please do not enter." Admission is $12.00.

I say, it's not THAT scary, bit it is pretty scary. The admission is a bit steep, but it's a pretty good scare. The place is nicely decorated and acted. I think it deserves the "best of."
