Earth Day Celebrations

Thursday April 17, 2008
Earth Day is just around the corner and Little Rock has a few celebrations in honor of it.

For the Little Rock Zoo's annual Earth Day celebration, the zoo presents several animal shows featuring earth friendly themes, booths featuring places like Central Arkansas Water and Arkansas' Game and Fish, and more. It's a fun day and events are included with the price of admission. Earth Day at the Zoo is this Saturday (April 19).

On April 26, 2008, the Clinton Center will host the largest Earth Day Festival in the state from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. This festival will feature food, shopping, games and live entertainers with exhibits by Arkansas’ Fish and Game, the Arkansas National Guard and a “green” playhouse. A concert follows the event at ArtSpace in North Little Rock from 7 to 11 p.m.

Other ideas? Why not visit Heifer's green office or teach the kids a little about recycling. Visiting a state park and enjoying the beauty of the earth is a good idea too.
