Yesterday was the first Christmas day since 1926 where Little Rock got new snow that actually stuck on the ground. There have been flurries and ice on Christmas Day, and a few Christmases where snow was on the ground. This year, there was actual snow falling (about 5-8 inches, I haven't heard the official a.m. count).
Unfortunately, the romanticized white Christmas didn't happen. About 187,000 Entergy customers were without power yesterday. Roads in Little Rock were awful. I heard reports of Christmas dinners being ruined by power outage. I even had friends get stranded trying to visit relatives. It's not as nice as the show at The Rep makes it out to be.
I have some important winter weather links that let you check road conditions, closings and report power outages (yesterday, Entergy's outage number was swamped. I imagine they know your power is out). Check the resources for winter weather out.
