This is the big tree trimming weekend. The list of tree farms has dwindled over the past few years, but over a dozen still remain. The closest cut your own tree farm to Little Rock is Motley's. They have a great operation with fun things for kids to do, lots of trees, cocoa and a Christmas shop for decorations and other fun things.
Choosing your own tree is a little more expensive than picking one up at Kroger's. Motley's trees start at $6/foot. It is a lot of fun and kids will remember it a lot more than going to get one at a store. I still remember going to a tree farm when I was a kid and walking around what I thought was an endless forest to pick the perfect one. We didn't always have real trees, but it seemed special when we did.
