I haven't gone out to eat much these last couple of months because I've been trying to eat healthier, but with family coming into town and a few exciting new restaurants opening, it's the time of year to go to out to eat.
The newish restaurants I need to try include the Packet House Grill. It's been open a while, but I still haven't tried it. I'm on their Facebook and it looks delicious and I love the location. I'll have to hit it this winter for sure.
Local Lime, the newest restaurant Scott McGehee and John Beachboard, is open in the Promenade, near their other restaurant Big Orange. I love Big Orange and almost ate there Friday. I wish I would have thought about Local Lime being open. I was Black Friday shopping, and just went home to eat. A friend of mine told me the tequila selection was awesome. I didn't hear about the food.
I've also heard we have a new Jamaican restaurant at 315 Main Street called Montego Cafe. I haven't heard from anyone who actually visited it yet, but their menu looks great. I love Jamaican food.
Last, but not least, there is Natchez, a Southern cuisine inspired restaurant on Center. It's menu looks great too. I really need to eat more.
If you have family in town for the holidays and they have special dietary needs, I have lists of the best of for those. Maybe they can find a great new restaurant to try too: vegetarian and vegan dining, gluten free dining, late night dining and kids dining.
