Oaklawn opens today with the normal fanfare and they're introducing a new announcer this year. Terry Wallace has been the announcer at Oaklawn for 37 years, longer than I've been alive. This year, he turned the reins over to Frank Mirahmadi.
They still have the same corned beef, video poker and electric gaming and races as always. Go check it out and see what you think of the new race announcer. Oaklawn live racing starts this weekend and continues until the Racing Festival of the South and the Arkansas Derby, April 11-April 14.
