This Saturday is a big day for one of my favorite family attractions in the city. The Museum of Discovery is opening its doors for the first time since last April to show off their newly redesigned and modernized facility.
The museum has added about 6,000 square feet of space. They've replaced outdated exhibits, added an all new tinkering studio and have new galleries to teach kids about the sciences. The tinkering studio, a hands on workshop, will serve as model to other museums.
The museum will be dedicated Friday, the 13th. The doors open January 14 at 9:00 a.m. until 5 p.m. They will be closed Mondays in the future, but they are open for the Martin Luther King Holiday on the 15th. Admission to facility has changed too. It's now $10.
