The big announcement from Verizon Arena is that Jimmy Buffett will be playing on March 1. I'm a big Jimmy Buffett fan, so that's good news to me. I crashed a Wal-Mart shareholders meeting years ago to see him, but he only did a short set and we had to sit through Jessie McCartney and Shakira first. It didn't have the same atmosphere as one of his regular shows.
Aside from that news, there's not much happening this weekend.
- Pinnacle Mountain has a few things going on including some hikes and an eagle lake cruise.
- The 8th is the last to day to ice skate at the River Market.
- The Cotton Bowl is tomorrow. You already knew that.
It's really slow for the weekend events, but that gives you time to recoup from the holiday.
Here's the important parts of the Jimmy Buffett press release:
Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band will perform at VERIZON ARENA for one night only on THURSDAY March 1 at 8pm, as part of Jimmy Buffett's "WELCOME TO FIN LAND" Tour 2012.
Michael Marion, the General Manager, said, "The Verizon Arena is beyond excited to host our first ever Jimmy Buffett concert. He has been the #1 most requested artist and everyone is thrilled at his long awaited return to Arkansas."
