Family Fridays: Visit the Little Rock Zoo

By , About.com Guide   July 23, 2010

Follow me on:

The zoo is having a special breakfast with the primates and a birthday party for the jaguars this Saturday.  It's the perfect time to visit.  The breakfast is $21.95, but watching the jaguars get their gifts is free with zoo admission.  The celebration for the jaguars is at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  Breakfast is at 8:00 a.m.   You can stick around for the Wild Wonders show at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Anytime is a good time to visit the zoo if you go early.  It's hot, and most of the animals have free access to the indoors. Be  there when the gates open at 9:00 and head for the outdoor exhibits like big cats and bears.

Right now, there is a lot of construction at the zoo because of the future penguin exhibit.  Many areas of the zoo look closed, but the buildings and exhibits are open.   Just pardon their dust and get excited about having African penguins, probably next year.

Read the article for more information about our zoo, admission and how to get there.

I’m kind of hoping the gifts for the tigers will be the primates. I’d love to watch them ook in terror as they fling their poo at the increasingly infuriated and hungry tigers.
