Glory Hole Falls is an interesting little water fall near Swaim Arkansas and Boxley Valley, the location of our Arkansas elk. The Glory Hole is unique because it's a waterfall under a creek. The creek has weathered a perfect hole into the rock, so you descend the trail into a cavern like area where you see the fall. It's pretty neat.

To get to the Glory Hole (off-color jokes aside), take Route 16 west, from the junction of take Arkansas 21 towards Fallsville. From Fallsville, you go about 6 miles to a dirt road on the left. There are lots of dirt roads on the left. The best advice I was given was to go until you see a big barn with an "E" on it (photo of the barn) on the right. The barn is almost directly across from the dirt road with the trailhead. Turn left onto it and park. You have to walk a little ways down the dirt road to get the trailhead.
The trailhead is unmarked, but I think it is obvious. There is a handwritten sign down the path that tell you you're in the right place. The joke is that it's 1/2 mile to the fall and two miles back. That's because the terrain is mostly downhill going to the fall, but a bit steeper coming back. It's not that bad though, and it's normally cool.
I've been disappointed when I've visited the Glory Hole, because the creek has been a bit dry every time. The image I used for this post is a bit wimpy. Though better photos show you how it's supposed to look. Maybe some day I'll get to see it in its full glory.
Good luck if you try!
