Post Offices Under Review for Closure

By , About.com Guide   August 3, 2009

Follow me on:

The government has announced that eight post offices in Arkansas, including three in Little Rock and one in North Little Rock, have been identified as candidates to be closed under a U.S. Postal Service initiative. These post offices will reviewed before any final decisions are made. The initiative is focused on saving the US Postal Service money. It could save almost $6 billion dollars a year. Here is a list of the Arkansas Post Offices that might close:
  • Aerospace Station, 3301 E Roosevelt Rd, Little Rock
  • Otter Creek Station, 13501 Otter Creek Pkwy, Little Rock
  • Pleasant Ridge Station, 11619 Pleasant Ridge Rd, Little Rock
  • North Little Rock Main Street Station, 420 Main Street North Little Rock
  • Barling Station, Fort Smith
  • Rogers Avenue Station, Fort Smith
  • South Ft Smith Station, Fort Smith
  • Johnson Station, Fayetteville
You can read more in Northwest Arkansas Times, plus read Argenta's take on the possible closure of their post office.
