Honestly, August is when the summer events start to slow down because people normally head in to escape the heat. It hasn't been that hot yet this year! There are a few things going on this weekend.
- The Central High Museum is showing "Hip Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes" from 2-4 p.m. Free admission.
- Pinnacle is doing a host of events, including an event talking about hummingbirds in Arkansas.
- Super Space Saturdays are continuing at the Clinton Library. Regular admission to the Clinton Presidential Center applies.
- For the bands: A friend of mine and his band, Bush Dog, will be at West End Tavern this weekend. They are kind of a dance band - 10 p.m., $5 cover. Vino's has a Hip-Hop showcase at 8 with $5 cover. The Big John Miller Band is at the Afterthough for a $7 cover.
- The Heifer Moo-Vie is "Food, Inc." from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- August 1 is the runway fashion show at McCain Mall. Center court at 2 p.m.
- Bowling For Rhinos is Thursday night at Millennium Bowl in Maumelle. The cost is $25 and it includes a silent auction, 2 games and lots of support for Rhino conservation.
