Happy Fourth of July!

Wednesday July 1, 2009
FireworksFor me the Fourth means BBQs, swimming pools and fireworks. I can't wait for the holiday weekend!

Most cities around Arkansas have fireworks displays on the Fourth. Little Rock has Pops On the River. The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra accompanies this great fireworks show every year. It's free for the public so you get a free concert and fireworks too. Music includes traditional patriotic tunes as well as a few classical and Broadway numbers. The concert starts at sundown in the amphitheater. Bring a towel or lawn chair.

There are other events around central Arkansas too. I heard the celebration at Sherwood Forest was great last year.

Remember that fireworks are illegal within city limits. Many cities outside city limits will allow fireworks until 10:30 pm.
