Arkansas Sets Date for Lottery

Saturday June 20, 2009
The Arkansas Lottery Commission met Friday afternoon in Little Rock, and Ernie Passailaigue told commissioners via conference call that tickets should be on sale by Oct. 29 and online gambling by Dec. 14.

The lottery director, Passailaigue, is currently chief of the lottery in South Carolina. He's leaving his position there and heading to Arkansas to help us set up the lottery and for a $324,000 salary. That salary makes him one of the highest paid lottery directors in the country.

Passailaigue said that 2,400 outlets should eventually be selling the lottery tickets.
