Recycle Your Christmas Tree

Monday December 29, 2008
If you have a real tree, you can dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner by donating it to one of Arkansas' state parks. Most lakes are Arkansas Game and Fish Christmas tree drop sites. The trees are sunk at these drop sites to act as fish habitat. One such drop site is the Alltel Access under the I-30 bridge, near the Arkansas River.

Another idea is to donate your tree to Pinnacle Mountain for them to use as an animal habitat. Just bring it to the Arkansas Arboretum, located at the west end of the parking lot near the Visitor Center. 501-868-5806

For either of these options, the trees have to real, tinsel free and ornament free. Little Rock provides curbside pickup of trees too. They should be disposed of like other yard waste if you choose to go that route.
