On July, 2 1952 Bull Shoals and Norfolk dams were dedicated by President Truman who visited the park for the event. Bull Shoals dam forms Bull Shoals Lake, Arkansas’s largest lake with 45,440 acres of waters. The lake is located on the White River and said to be some of the best fishing in Arkansas.

The newly remodeled visitor's center opened in 2006 and it is outstanding. It has excellent views and modern facilities. Educational programs and exhibits are located inside.

Camping is available. Prices range from $21.50/night for a premium campsite to $8/night for a tent site.Facilities include picnic areas, standard pavilions, playgrounds, trails and a boat dock with rentals and supplies. Call 870-431-5521.

There are also many lodges and resorts at Bull Shoals that are not under the state park system. Many are excellent and this is the perfect place for a romantic getaway if you like nature

It's one of my personal favorites, and I can't believe I haven't written about it before. I'll have to fix that!
