Lorenzen & Co and "Reel Civil Rights Film Festival"

Tuesday January 22, 2008
Lorenzen & Co booksellers is closing. While I don't visit as often as I like, I love that old place. Lorenzen & C is the used & new bookstore in the Tanglewood Shopping Center on Cantrell Road. They will be having a clearance sale and the doors are set to close in March. I'll miss them. It makes me feel guilty for not buying more, but he says financial decisions were not his only deciding factor.

On another note, Little Rock was home to one of the most groundbreaking events in civil rights, the Central High crisis. What better place to study this history than here? Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site, in partnership with Market Street Cinema and the Ozark Foothills Film Fest will be showing a civil rights film festival on Saturday, Feb. 16th and Sunday, Feb. 17th at Market Street Cinema. Admission is free. You pick up tickets the day of the showing.
