Huckabee Pardons Keith Richards

Friday November 10, 2006
Gov. Mike Huckabee pardoned Rolling Stones member Keith Richards for a 31-year-old misdemeanor reckless driving ticket.

Huckabee formally pardoned Richards on Thursday for a July 5, 1975 arrest in Fordyce. Richards and bandmate Ron Wood were pulled over by a Fordyce officer on the way to Dallas. He was charged with reckless driving and possession of a concealed knife. Huckabee says he came to the decision to pardon Richards after speaking with him backstage after a concert.

Personally I think pardoning such a high profile case gives Huckabee some much pursued media coverage. Even though he denies it, we all know he's running for office. He already has a fan club and some people who are not fans.
