5.47-Carat, Canary Yellow Diamond Found In Arkansas
Wednesday October 25, 2006
Don't you wish you could be lucky enough to find a big diamond? I've been to Crater of Diamonds State Park dozens of times and I haven't found a diamond yet. A man from Wisconsin doesn't share my luck. Earlier this week, he unearthed a flawless, 5.47-carat, canary yellow diamond. It is the second largest diamond found so far this year at the park, according to Park Superintendent Tom Stolarz. The largest of the 25,000 diamonds discovered since the Crater became an Arkansas state park in 1972 is the 16.37-carat Amarillo Starlight. A visitor from Texas found this white diamond in 1975. Talk about luck! Find out how to search for your own diamond but save some for me!

I was lucky enough to be at the park the day that Bob found the canary yellow diamond. It is breathtakingly extraordinary. It was wonderful just to see it, and I appreciate Bob taking the time to stop and show it to my husband and myself. I actually have diamonds that my husband and I have dug up, but noting as large as this one, it was found just about forty feet from where we were digging. We will go back in the spring. Again, we appreciate Bob taking the time to show us this extraordinary diamond.
P.S. I had one mounted in a ring that was 2/3 carat. It is stunning as well, and a light canary yellow.
Way to go Bob. Keep looking.

That’s very cool! I’ve been quite a few times. I’ve never found anything but quartz. I like quartz but I’d rather have something like you found (or bettr yet, like Bob found).
