Mike Nelson (sans robot friends) in Magnolia, AR

Tuesday September 26, 2006
I can think of nothing better than a Halloween full of watching scary movies. By scary movies, I don't mean "The Grunge" or "Halloween: H20" (aka "Halloween Water"). I mean movies that are so badly made, it's scary! Things like "Manos," "Sidehackers" and "Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonder." Nobody knows horrible movies like Mystery Science Theater's Mike Nelson and he will be visiting Magnolia on Halloween to scare us all with his tales of "Road House" and Joe Don Baker.

Even if you think you've never heard of Mike Nelson or Mystery Science Theater, you probably have. Mystery Science Theater was most recently on Sci-fi. It was the show with the puppets and the big goofy guy mocking the movie. Mike Nelson played the role of the big goofy guy and head writer of the series. He has since been writing books, mocking films and producing content for Legend Films. You can read more about him and read some short essays on MichaeJNelson.com

I'm sure he will talk about his books and his work with Legend Films at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, AR on October 31, 2006 (Halloween). The lecture is scheduled for 7:00 pm, and there will be an autograph signing session afterward. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

I promise it will be hilarious and at least worth the price of admission.
