Anti-Wal-mart movie hits Arkansas

Tuesday November 15, 2005
Robert Greenwald’s new documentary film about the company, Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price hit Arkansas this week and was screened by people around the state. In Little Rock, many bars and even houses held screenings for people to see the film which takes a critical view of Wal-mart, accusing them of low pay and lousy benefits. Don't expect to see this film show up on your local Wal-mart shelves!

Wal-mart has a produced a film in its defense. This film shows how Wal-mart pushes for higher minimum wages and other benefits and provides consumers with low prices.

I won't say where I stand on the issue, but I will say that my favorite "film" about the cost of low prices is Jib-Jab's "Big Boxmart" (flash).
